About Big City Thunder

Founded by legendary Funny Car racer, Jim Maybeck, and his partner, Gail Hamilton, Big City Thunder has been designing and patenting performance baffles since 2000.  Jim & Gail are 2 individuals who enjoy riding, racing, and street rodding - just like you!

Our people come from diverse backgrounds like hands on hard work and life experiences, to Masters Degrees. The common bond is our passion for motorcycles and an ever-better exhaust.

In racing, Jim would intimidate his competitors with his championships and world record making supercharged, nitro-burning funny car named Screaming Eagle.  Sponsored by United States Savings Bonds and Kendall Oil, this patriotic red, white and blue AA/FC was featured in Hot Rod, Car Craft, Super Stock, and similar magazines in the late 60's and 70's.  Racing against such legends as Mickey Thompson, Jungle Jim, The Ram Chargers, Don Prudhome, Connie Kalitta, and Shirley Muldowney, Jim and The Screaming Eagle were a major threat to their competition throughout the USA.

From these beginnings Big City Thunder was formed.  Beginning as a way to improve his own bike's performance and sound and then the bikes of friends, Thunder Monsters, our patented and trademarked performance baffles have been successfully applied in motorcycle exhaust systems too numerous to list.

ProFabrication has been working closely with BCT since the beginning as the manufacturer of the performance baffles.  Jim and Gail were ready to retire and focus on enjoying their bikes, so it was only logical for Jim and Gail to hand over the reigns to ProFabrication to keep the cool sound of your bike thundering in the big city!

Jim and Gail have paved the way for performance baffles.  ProFabrication aims to honor their hard work and make them proud into the future.
